Cupping Massage

60 minutes $75 / 90 minutes $112

Can be combined with Deep Tissue or Sports Massage upon request.

Based in the traditional Chinese medicine meridian system to return to balance to the organs and improve circulatory system, cupping is a unique treatment with a gliding technique to remove external and internal pathogens from the body and restore the circulation of blood.

The practice uses cups to create a vacuum seal on areas of the body. The suction created by this seal brings blood to the surface of the skin, up to 4 inches within the skin. It provides for a wonderful deep tissue massage, not limited to the area of direct treatment but also to the areas the relevant nerves are controlling. Cupping targets soft tissue by applying local pressure to pain points and areas of swelling. As blood flow increases within vessels and capillaries, tissues receive much-needed nutrients and oxygen.

Locally, cupping has a great effect on stiff muscles with the pull and gliding properties aiding in pain reduction and relaxation. Cupping is not painful; clients commonly leave with circular bruises on the areas where the cups were applied. The bruising is thought to be the negative energy elements coming to the surface and exiting the body.

“Massage Magazine” reports clients who received cupping sessions found that it relieved chronic pain and helped improve range of motion to injured areas. The clients who experienced this pain relief report the effects last longer than the pain relief associated with other massage modalities.

Benefits:

  • Release tissues deep inside the body
  • Relax tense muscles and ease stiffness associated with chronic back and neck pains, migraines, rheumatism, and fatigue
  • Activates lymph system
  • Assists in reduction of cellulite and improves skin tone
  • Improve athletic performance and reduce stiffness, muscle cramps, joint pain, and scar tissue caused by injuries
